Garlic Naan – No yeast, No rest
Yield: 2-4 Servings
Ingredients
260 grams self-rising flour (2 1/8 cup)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Tijerina Garam Masala
1 cup plain, full fat yogurt
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 tablespoons milk
3 cloves garlic, chopped
¼ cup cilantro, rough chopped
Method
- In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and Tijerina Garam Masala Spice Blend.
- Make a well in the center and then add the yogurt, oil and milk and mix until combined and the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
- Knead for up to 5 minutes on a clean, dry surface.
- Cut dough into 2 or 4 pieces (depends on the size of your pan or griddle)
- Roll out the dough into oblong pieces (round is fine too).
- Lay ½ to ¼ of the chopped garlic on the clean, dry surface and roll the dough over the garlic to allow it to stick into the dough.
- Heat a large pan on high and lay the dough in the pan until the surface bubbles and the underside is golden brown, then flip and cook 1 more minute.
- Remove from heat and brush with olive oil and sprinkle some of the cilantro on top.
- Serve immediately.
