Garlic Naan – No yeast, No rest

Yield:  2-4 Servings

Ingredients

260 grams self-rising flour (2 1/8 cup)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Tijerina Garam Masala
1 cup plain, full fat yogurt
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 tablespoons milk
3 cloves garlic, chopped
¼ cup cilantro, rough chopped

Method

  1. In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and Tijerina Garam Masala Spice Blend.
  2. Make a well in the center and then add the yogurt, oil and milk and mix until combined and the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
  3. Knead for up to 5 minutes on a clean, dry surface.
  4. Cut dough into 2 or 4 pieces (depends on the size of your pan or griddle)
  5. Roll out the dough into oblong pieces (round is fine too).
  6. Lay ½ to ¼ of the chopped garlic on the clean, dry surface and roll the dough over the garlic to allow it to stick into the dough.
  7. Heat a large pan on high and lay the dough in the pan until the surface bubbles and the underside is golden brown, then flip and cook 1 more minute.
  8. Remove from heat and brush with olive oil and sprinkle some of the cilantro on top.
  9. Serve immediately.
