Garam Masala Spice Blend
Garam masala is a widely used spice blend in India in dishes from curry to soup to lentils and yes, even dessert. It means a “hot or warm mixture of spices”.
Whole spices of cinnamon, coriander seeds, clove, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, star anise, bay leaf and black and green cardamom pods and freshly grated nutmeg are toasted to release their aromatic flavors, then fresh ground locally by chef Jessica Tijerina.
