Together Time.
At home. Working out. Cooking. Playing. Making up Games. Meal Time.
We are together. We are family.
Ok. My partner, TW has worked from home for the past 2 years, so this is not new to him.
His son, my partner in crime, Liam is in his 8th grade year, getting ready for high school. He keeps fairly active with climb class, school musicals, school plays, soccer, basketball, friends, etc.
I wear several hats and I am rarely home evenings, but when I am we make a point to get together. We cook together, we eat together, we take walks, ride bikes, we play games or watch a show.
Always.
It is very important to me and to us as a family.
So, what is new you ask? Well, everything else.
While they are home bound all day, I am still working 5 days a week at the local grocer, so I get out and socialize (in the safest way possible).
When I have been home, which now has been, since around March 1st a record 7 days! We are sharing spaces all day long. We need to eat all day long. We need to find projects to do all day long.
Here is what we have been doing…
6am-12pm (roughly)TW and I wake up early and one of us makes coffee to jump start the day.
Liam wakes up at 8am and does school work 8am-12pm.
We eat breakfast, typically hot oats or eggs, since we are not rushing out the door to get to school or work we have the time for something different. Not necessarily healthier or easier, just different.
For those of you who are new subscribers we have already had the
Baked Oatmeal and have eaten it several different ways! Fruit added, yogurt added, milk and butter and brown sugar! It’s so easy and Liam can make it too.
TW works in his office and plays mad scientist with all sorts of projects.
I blog, research recipes, read, nap, organize.
TW and I organized the pantry and did a spreadsheet of everything we have 🙂 Yup. We did.
12p-1p We Break!We have lunch.
What have we had so far? Macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, veggies, pizza, egg salad sandwiches, my famous weekly crisper salad, leftover veggies and grains made into stir fry using my Chinese master sauce, meat, cheese, cracker and fruit plates.
Snacks throughout the day include nuts, fruit, veggies, cheese sticks, crackers, hummus, etc.
We have a bin that houses all sorts of snacks; granola bars, fruit bars, beef jerky, applesauce, chocolate, homemade trail mix, etc. I take inventory and refill as necessary. It’s very convenient. I also have a spreadsheet for this. Eek!
1pm-6pmLiam gets to do what he wants if his homework for the day is complete. He typically games with his friends or watches anime. Often he works out on the treadmill, lifts weights or hits the boxing thingy. Very loud!
He also gets to clean the bathroom today. Yay!
I am on the computer, reading a good book, planning meals or wandering around the house making lists of projects to complete. 1. Basement organization 2. Fix jewelry 3. Organize containers 4. Organize spices 5. Dust
TW continues to tinker, work and every so often check in on Liam and I to see what we are up to. He also has an ongoing list of projects. 1. Build shelves in the basement 2. Fix Jessica’s jewelry 3. Build a bookshelf 4. Dust (Disclaimer: some of the items in this list he may or may not be aware that they are on his list. Just sayin’)
Tune in tomorrow to see how the rest of our day goes! See you then. Until then…hummus ya’ll.
