Aloo Chat Samosa

Yield:  15 Samosas

Ingredients
1 package puff pastry, thawed for 30 minutes
3 large yellow Potato, peeled and cubed
1 large yellow Onion, finely chopped
2 cloves Garlic, chopped
1 Green chile, chopped (serrano will do)
½ tablespoon Ginger, grated
1 cup frozen green peas
3 tablespoons Cilantro, chopped
½ teaspoon Chile powder
¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
1 Egg

Method

  1. Pre-Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Whisk egg in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan over medium high heat.
  4. Add onion, garlic, chile and ginger and saute until onion becomes translucent.
  5. Add potatoes, peas, cilantro, chile powder, turmeric, salt and pepper until potatoes are al dente.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Roll out puff pastry into a square. (12×12)
  8. Cut into 9 squares of 4×4 and brush edges with egg wash.
  1. Place a tablespoon of mixture at the center of each square and fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle.
  2. Using a fork, crimp to seal the edges. Place on a baking tray.
  3. Egg wash the top of each samosa.
  4. Bake 16 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with Chutney.
