Aloo Chat Samosa
Yield: 15 Samosas
Ingredients
1 package puff pastry, thawed for 30 minutes
3 large yellow Potato, peeled and cubed
1 large yellow Onion, finely chopped
2 cloves Garlic, chopped
1 Green chile, chopped (serrano will do)
½ tablespoon Ginger, grated
1 cup frozen green peas
3 tablespoons Cilantro, chopped
½ teaspoon Chile powder
¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
1 Egg
Method
- Pre-Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Whisk egg in a bowl and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium high heat.
- Add onion, garlic, chile and ginger and saute until onion becomes translucent.
- Add potatoes, peas, cilantro, chile powder, turmeric, salt and pepper until potatoes are al dente.
- Remove from heat.
- Roll out puff pastry into a square. (12×12)
- Cut into 9 squares of 4×4 and brush edges with egg wash.
- Place a tablespoon of mixture at the center of each square and fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle.
- Using a fork, crimp to seal the edges. Place on a baking tray.
- Egg wash the top of each samosa.
- Bake 16 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with Chutney.
