{"id":896,"date":"2019-10-11T18:00:59","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T23:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/?p=896"},"modified":"2020-02-06T11:15:14","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T17:15:14","slug":"miso-glazed-salmon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/index.php\/2019\/10\/11\/miso-glazed-salmon\/","title":{"rendered":"Miso Glazed Salmon"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Miso Glazed Salmon<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Yield: 4 Servings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\n3\/4 cup miso (white preferred, but any will do)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup sugar<br \/>\n1\/3 cup sake (rice wine)<br \/>\n2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger (use as Microplane)<br \/>\n1 pound skin-on salmon fillet, about 1 1\/2 inches thick<\/p>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Whisk the miso, sugar, sake, and ginger in a glass bowl until it forms a thick, wet paste<\/li>\n<li>Place salmon in a 1-gallon plastic bag and pour the marinade into the bag; seal it, pressing out as much air as possible and refrigerate <strong>at least 5 hours and up to 24.*<\/strong> <em>To <\/em>avoid bag leaks place into a bowl prior to refrigeration. Flip the bag occasionally to make sure the fish marinates evenly<\/li>\n<li>Remove the fish from the marinade**<\/li>\n<li>Lay the pieces on the rack, broiler pan\u00a0 or baking dish skin side down. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the marinade on top of each piece of fish and spread in a thin coat<\/li>\n<li>Broil the salmon until the center is still translucent when checked with the tip of a paring knife and registers 125 degrees for medium-rare, about 7 to 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>If baking, bake at 400 degrees approximately 10-12 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>*Ran out of time and want fish in less than 45 minutes?\u00a0 Slide a paring knife gently into salmon to open up the meat and pour marinade over it.\u00a0 Seal it tightly in a plastic sealed bag (or 2) and massage the fish for up to 3 minutes.
