You follow the smell like the old cartoons when there was a pie in the window…you know I’m talkin’ ’bout…legs fluttering in the air as though they are floating. Only to be fooled, tricked and deceived by ROASTED CINNAMON ALMONDS! WHAT?! Who the…what on earth…why would you do such a thing????

Well, this is not as bad, but it is somewhat of a shock to the system the first few times it happens. A good nights sleep (just go with it), you wake, you smile, you stretch and then take a deep breath to smell what seems to be cookies baking. For breakfast?! You jump out of bead and skip downstairs to see mom scooping what appears to be steaming, hot squares of oatmeal out of a baking dish into cereal bowls. You grimace at first, but then she brings out the brown sugar, the cream, the fresh fruit, the syrup and a spoon. Oh…my…goodness, that first bite is all she wrote from that moment on. It is a must have when we go to the cabin, it is essential in the fall and winter for breakfast.
