{"id":1797,"date":"2020-08-28T21:17:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-29T02:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/?p=1797"},"modified":"2020-08-28T21:17:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-29T02:17:58","slug":"ground-cherry-clafoutis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/28\/ground-cherry-clafoutis\/","title":{"rendered":"Ground Cherry Clafoutis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Ground Cherry Clafoutis<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Yield<\/strong>:\u00a0 6 Servings<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\n2 tablespoons butter<br \/>\n3 cups husked and washed ground cherries<br \/>\n1 \u00bc cup milk (2% or whole, not low fat or you will yield a watery result)<br \/>\n2\/3 cup sugar<br \/>\n4 eggs<br \/>\n1 tablespoon vanilla or almond extract<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n\u00be cup white unbleached flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon lemon zest<br \/>\nConfectioner\u2019s sugar for final dusting (powdered sugar)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preheat oven to 375\u00b0F<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Butter a cast iron skillet or 9-inch baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the paper husk from the ground cherries. Keep whole or cut in half. Add to the skillet or baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>In a medium bowl whisk milk, sugar, eggs, and extract.<\/li>\n<li>Slowly whisk in salt and flour until batter is smooth. Add zest and whisk a few more times to incorporate.<\/li>\n<li>Pour batter into the skillet and place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes-1-hour until a skewer comes out clean and the crust is a golden brown. Run a knife around the edges if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Dust lightly with confectioners\u2019 sugar and serve.
