One curd at a time&#8230;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deep Fried Cheese Curds<\/h2><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h4><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 lb Fresh Cheese Curds<\/li><li>3\/4 cups buttermilk (or milk + juice of 1\/2 lemon)<\/li><li>3\/4 cups flour<\/li><li>1 teaspoon baking soda<\/li><li>1 egg<\/li><li>2 teaspoons Kosher salt<\/li><li>Oil for frying (I use canola or peanut)<\/li><li>1 lb Fresh Cheese Curds<\/li><\/ul><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h4><div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Heat oil in a deep fryer or dutch oven on the stove with about 1 1\/2 inches of oil to 375 degrees.<\/li><li>In a small bowl mix milk + lemon juice if using and set aside for 5 minutes.<\/li><li>In a medium size bowl mix buttermilk, flour, baking soda, egg and salt together.<\/li><li>Add cheese curds and toss until fully coated. Batter will be wet, if you want a thicker batter add 1\/4-1\/2 cup more flour and mix.<\/li><li>Very carefully add single curds into hot oil and cook until just golden or about 3-4 minutes.<\/li><li>Drain on a paper towel. <\/li><\/ol><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><p>Enjoy immediately!  <\/p><p><em>Optional Sauce:  3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon ketchup, juice from 1\/4 lime or 1 teaspoon lemon juice.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If we don&#8217;t get to go to the fair, we will bring it.
