How was your weekend?\u00a0 What did you do?\u00a0

I worked all weekend and it was a great experience.\u00a0 The local grocery store that I work at has changed hours, limited the amount of customers in the store at a time and created distance at the checkout “grand finale” by using every other register. We do a lot more throughout the day, but these are the most recent changes.\u00a0
Let me tell you it changed the climate of the store immediately. You can almost hear the muscles in peoples shoulders relax as they see that they have room to move their carts down the aisles, employees are singing away and everyone is practicing social distancing respectfully.\u00a0
Customers understand. They are thankful and appreciative. They\u00a0realize that without the crowds, long lines and other customers climbing over them to grab the last bag of flour, it is a much more enjoyable experience for everyone. And above all else, it is for the safety of the customers and the employees. We have the opportunity to provide a necessary service at a time of uncertainty.\u00a0It is a privilege. I am grateful.\u00a0

As promised from my post yesterday, in the evening hours 6pm on we never really know what will happen. Sometimes we need to get out and take a walk\u00a0down to the river. Sometimes we play a game, Uno Flip has been fun or Eye Spy. TW and I played a few games of cribbage last night and listened to cheesy, but oh so singable 80’s music. Sometimes we are all three in separate rooms on the computer doing our own things. Often the silence is broken by one of us laughing or snorting at something really not very funny, but fee the need to share. Reddit is likely the source for the guffaw.
Today, when I return home from work,\u00a0\u00a0I think we will begin one of our bigger projects…the basement.\u00a0 Little did TW know that when we decided to merge lives that I would bring with me totes and bins of cooking equipment that basically took over his basement. He built shelving for me early on, but now we need to build a few more to get things off of the floor. It will be a good organization exercise. Maybe a bit of purging too. We will see.\u00a0

I hope that you are all staying safe, staying healthy and practicing social distancing and frequent hygiene routines.

I think about those\u00a0all day long that have been temporarily displaced from their places of work or have lost\u00a0their jobs or\u00a0their businesses. I am doing all that I can to help.\u00a0
