{"id":1135,"date":"2020-03-22T22:23:54","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T03:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/?p=1135"},"modified":"2020-03-22T22:23:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T03:23:54","slug":"awesome-sauce-red-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/22\/awesome-sauce-red-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Awesome-Sauce&#8221; Red Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Awesome-Sauce Red Sauce<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Yield<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>8 Servings<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\n1T olive oil<br \/>\n2 white onions, diced<br \/>\n8 garlic cloves, minced<br \/>\n10 fresh flat-leaf parsley sprigs<br \/>\n1 T fresh or \u00bd tsp dried oregano<br \/>\n1 tsp fresh rosemary, diced<br \/>\n8-10 leaves fresh basil (dried will work, but fresh is best (use 1 tablespoon dried))<br \/>\n2 (28oz) Cans whole, peeled, fire roasted tomatoes or 4 (14oz) can fire roasted diced tomatoes<br \/>\n1 T honey<br \/>\n1 tsp balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)<br \/>\n1 cup chicken or vegetable stock<br \/>\n<em>Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add oil, onion, garlic and herbs.<\/li>\n<li>Saut\u00e9 for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add tomatoes and simmer, uncovered 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add honey, balsamic and stock and simmer another 20 minutes to 1 hour <em>(allow the ingredients to marry together and the liquid to reduce to create a thickness)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat and let cool 5-10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Puree using an immersion blender or stand-up blender (liquid should be room temp for a blender)<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste.
