{"id":1095,"date":"2020-03-03T23:22:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T05:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/?p=1095"},"modified":"2020-03-29T10:21:09","modified_gmt":"2020-03-29T15:21:09","slug":"tijerinas-chicken-tikka-masala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessicatijerina.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/03\/tijerinas-chicken-tikka-masala\/","title":{"rendered":"Tijerina&#8217;s Chicken Tikka Masala"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Chicken Tikka Masala<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Recipe courtesy of Jessica Tijerina <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jessicatijerina.com\"><strong>www.jessicatijerina.com<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Yield:\u00a0 4-6 Servings<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong><u>Ingredients<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CHICKEN MARINADE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3\u00a0boneless, skinless chicken breasts<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup\u00a0plain yogurt<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons\u00a0lemon juice<\/p>\n<p>6 cloves\u00a0garlic, minced<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon\u00a0minced ginger<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0Kosher salt<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons Tijerina&#8217;s Garam Masala Spice Mix<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0paprika<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAUCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 tablespoons Ghee or coconut oil<\/p>\n<p>1\u00a0large onion, finely diced<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons\u00a0minced ginger or grated<\/p>\n<p>8 cloves\u00a0garlic, minced<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0ground turmeric<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0ground coriander<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons\u00a0paprika<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon cayenne<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon ground mustard seed<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon celery salt<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon black pepper<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons Tijerina&#8217;s Garam Masala Spice Mix<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon\u00a0tomato puree<\/p>\n<p>3 \u00bd cups\u00a0tomato sauce<\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bc cups\u00a0water<\/p>\n<p>1 cup\u00a0heavy cream<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup\u00a0fresh cilantro, for garnish<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Method<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MARINADE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Slice the chicken into bite-sized chunks. Combine the chicken with the yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt, cumin, garam masala, and paprika and stir until well-coated.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 500\u00b0F.
